What Will You Do?
- Manage overall daily maintenance operations and provide technical support to ensure the timely rectification of defects according to SOPs and timelines.
- Oversee maintenance of the entire building and facilities (guest rooms, public areas, restaurant, bar, rooftop, link bridge, parking, M&E systems, plumbing, HVAC, lifts, fire systems, generators, substations, etc.).
- Develop, implement, and monitor the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) program.
- Ensure full utilization of the Facilities Management System (FCS App) to track tasks and KPIs.
- Troubleshoot and carry out electrical and mechanical repair works, including handling 11kV M&E substation with the chargeman/consultant support.
- Coordinate high-voltage switching and ensure compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga Malaysia and other authorities.
- Conduct daily routine inspections of all mechanical and electrical systems.
- Monitor electricity and water consumption; propose energy-saving and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Prepare monthly maintenance reports (defects, rectifications, inventory, WIP status).
- Manage inventory control for spare parts and tools; source and maintain vendor/supplier list.
- Appoint, liaise with, and monitor external contractors to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Ensure 24-hour maintenance coverage by managing team shifts and emergency standby schedules.
- Develop departmental SOPs and conduct internal training as per the training calendar.
- Prepare annual maintenance budget and forecast expenses.
- Conduct staff performance reviews and handle disciplinary matters.
- Maintain fire safety logbook and ensure compliance with building, health, environmental, and safety regulations.
- Liaise with local authorities for license renewals and regulatory inspections.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the General Manager / Hotel Manager.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in hotel, commercial building, or facilities management.
- Possess valid Suruhanjaya Tenaga Chargeman certification (A1 or A4).
- Strong knowledge of M&E systems, HVAC, fire protection, and building maintenance.
- Experience handling 11kV substation is an added advantage.
- Leadership experience managing a maintenance team.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, 24-hour operational environment and be on standby when required.
