Ormond Group is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to support our group finance department. This internship offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in finance and accounting to gain practical experience in a dynamic and rapidly growing company. As a Finance Intern, you will work closely with our Chief Financial Officer, finance professionals and contribute to various finance and accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Management Accounts
- Assist in the preparation and compilation of monthly management reports and financial statements.
Financial Analysis
- Assist in analysing revenue, expenses, profitability and other key financial indicators.
- Prepare financial analysis and reports to support management decision-making.
- Assist in comparing actual performance against budget and prior periods.
- Support the team in identifying variances and gathering information for further analysis.
Accounts & Reconciliation
- Assist with General Ledger activities and account reconciliations.
- Support bank and balance sheet reconciliations and assist in identifying discrepancies.
- Assist in reviewing financial records and ensuring supporting documentation is complete and accurate.
- Gain exposure to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes where required.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Support the collection, consolidation and analysis of financial information from different business units.
- Assist in preparing budget-versus-actual analysis and supporting schedules.
Audit & Compliance
- Provide support during internal and external audits.
- Assist in preparing audit schedules, supporting documents and financial records.
- Assist in ensuring finance documentation is properly maintained and organised.
Corporate Finance Projects
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and corporate finance projects assigned by the team.
- Support research and data collection for business and financial analysis.
- Assist with process improvement and other projects undertaken by the Corporate Finance department.
- Gain exposure to finance operations across different entities and business units within Ormond Group.
- Support the Finance team in reviewing financial data and identifying significant variances or trends.
- Assist with the preparation of financial schedules, supporting documents and management reports.
- Assist with group reporting and consolidation-related activities where required.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when handling financial information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Basic understanding of financial principles and accounting concepts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
